Les Work It Out

Meet Lesley Dennis of LesWorkItOut Fitness!

It's Women's History Month and this month, we're showing extra love to the amazing women in our I Love Being Caribbean movement. There's something magical about Caribbean women and Lesley is no exception. Lesley is a founding member of I Love Being Caribbean, a music teacher and certified Zumba® instructor. Zumba® is a cardio dance program that blends Latin, Caribbean and other international rhythms with effective workout moves.

We first met Lesley at our Caribbean Craft Market in 2019. Lesley is beautiful inside and out and represents the culture with pride, love and excellence. Her unmatchable energy immediately changes the vibe in the room, both in person and online. We are honored to have her as a wonderful member of the iLBC family!

How did you get your start in Zumba®?

I started a weightloss journey a few years ago and my personal trainer told me I need to incorporate more cardio into my regimen. She recommended some of the group fitness classes the gym offered. I tried Zumba® and I LOVED it because I have a dance background. After attending classes for years (and of course toning up), I decided this was something I wanted to do! Motivate people to ENJOY their workouts! I officially became a Zumba® instructor on May 16, 2019. As a proud Jamaican, my signature dance style is Caribbean, but I love to incorporate all flavors!

Why Zumba®?

I chose to become a Zumba® instructor because I wanted to motivate people to workout. Dance is also something I did as a child and I always wanted to get back into it and wasn’t sure of the best avenue to take. I have been an instructor almost 2 years now.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In five years I see myself modeling Zumba Wear®, leading workshops, and doing video shoots for Zumba® headquarters in Miami.

What advice would you give to aspiring Entrepreneurs?

Make a plan, stick to it, and always be consistent. Be willing to accept failure, and know that those are opportunities for growth.

How can people join your classes?

I host virtual Zumba classes monthly. I send emails to all of my participants to keep them updated on my schedule. If you would like to be included on the email list, send an email to Lesworkitout@gmail.com and I will send you updates on my virtual classes. You can also follow me on social media: Instagram: @LesRockZumba
